March 31, 2009

It rained this morning in Orange, but the sun decided to show it's face this afternoon. So, Chad and I decided to go to Shangri La gardens. I'm so glad that we did! It was absolutley beautiful and peaceful. I actually forgot to bring my camera, so I don't have any pictures to show. I bemoaned that all while I was there. :O)

Last night we had another really great service with the Smith's. Chad preached, "Standing in the Doorway of Promise." They also had their children's drama ministry sign a song. They did a really great job. It was such a treat to watch those children worshipping God.

Chad received a call from Jesse McMahan this afternoon, and we will be preaching at a Sectional rally on Friday night in Waco. So, we will get home on Thursday, and I will go to work on Friday. Then Chad will pick me up from work on Friday, and we will go to Waco. We will be there all weekend. Whew! Busy, busy... :O)

Well, I guess I'd better get ready for church tonight. Pray for us!

We love y'all!

March 29 - April 1, 2009

Yay! My first blog! I know that I need to get pictures up, and I will as soon as I get home.

This week we are preaching at Rev. W.W. Smith's church in Orange, Tx. We had great services yesterday! On Sunday morning, Chad preached, "Sitting at the King's Table." He referenced Mephibosheth's story in II Samuel chapter 9. That sermon is one of my favorite ones! That morning, a lady that has cancer came to the altar and prayed. After service, she told Bro. Smith that she wanted to get baptized that night. She was worried about the water being too cold, but Bro. Smith assured her that he would have it warmed up for her. On Sunday night, there was such a great presence of God in the service. The ensemble sang a song, "Freedom", which is becoming one of my new favorites. After worship, Chad preached, "It's Never a Good Time to Quit." The congregation really responded and we had a great altar call. The lady with cancer was baptized and one teenage girl received the Holy Ghost. To God be the glory!

This morning I made Chad go for a walk with me. He hasn't been feeling well, but he was a good sport and went anyways. We decided to walk up and down the streets of old historic Orange. There are so many pretty houses there. I really enjoyed it! Tomorrow we are supposed to go to the Botanic Gardens. I hope to take pictures and post them.
